Board raises Road & Bridge employee wages and approves county road classification

At the March 17 meeting the Cherokee County Board of Commissioners approved pay increases for two Road & Bridge employees and adopted a County Functional Classification Resolution. Commissioner Frazier moved to increase Sean Shipman’s hourly wage from $19 to $21 and JR Neil’s from $17 to $19; Commissioner Moates seconded both motions and each passed unanimously.
Road and Bridge Supervisor Cody Zook was recorded as present during the discussion. The County Functional Classification Resolution was moved by Commissioner Moates, seconded by Commissioner Frazier and approved unanimously; the minutes note the resolution updates the county’s functional road classifications and that the supporting paperwork will be reviewed/maintained by county staff.
