Ottawa County approves employee probation completion and promotion

The Board approved two personnel actions during the Feb. 26 meeting. First, the Board accepted the recommendation of the Director of Job & Family Services to recognize Shannon Lajti's completion of her new-hire probationary period and a $0.25-per-hour increase effective Feb. 3, 2026. "This action is taken upon the recommendation of the Director of Job & Family Services," the meeting record states.
Second, the Board approved promotion of Ashton Schroeder to Maintenance II effective March 9, 2026, with a base rate of pay of $25.80 per hour, pursuant to the department recommendation and the union contract; the Sanitary Engineer recommended the promotion. Commissioners Mark W. Stahl, Donald A. Douglas and Mark E. Coppeler voted yes on both motions.
