"Staffing a future west-side fire station would create approximately $1.8 million in ongoing annual costs," Bunker said, and he urged council to consider the timing and scope of any revenue changes to meet service demands. Council members discussed property-tax dynamics, noting that shifts in valuation and HB 236’s truth-in-taxation changes are driving public concerns about perceived tax increases.
