District rolls out dyslexia screener for K–3 and schedules mental-health, tolerance programs

Superintendent Sara Gramm reported that the district has started using a dyslexia screener in grades K–3 and that grades 2–3 were completing the screener during the week of Dec. 16. "They have started using a screener for dyslexia in grades K-3," Gramm said during her superintendent's report.
Gramm also described outreach and student supports: a Kaiser program titled “Ghosted” focused on mental health issues for grades 6–8 is planned, and the superintendent and vice principal have reached out to the Museum of Tolerance to arrange grade-level lessons at Brook Haven. Gramm said the district’s PLC team is developing professional development and curricular supports to follow these activities.
