Mayor Thielen reported Baker Metal is offering compactor containers for $4,000 apiece; the town currently owns two containers, one showing rust, and new containers cost about $15,000. Councilwoman Promise Miller asked whether current budgeted funds covered purchase; Clerk Bondell said reserves exist in the garbage account but the purchase was not budgeted for the current year.
Councilwoman Michele Gray suggested waiting until the new budget year beginning in July so funds can be allocated. Mayor Thielen also said he would contact last year's contractor, Marissa Varner, to arrange weed spraying at the container site.
