Plevna council accepts final sewer PER and hires Brosz to pursue $500,000 MCEP grant

Camie Janikowski of Brosz Engineering presented the town's final Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) for sanitary sewer line work and advised the council that Plevna appears eligible to apply for the $500,000 level of the Montana Community, Economic and Infrastructure Program (MCEP) construction grant.
Janikowski said the grant requires a 50/50 local match and recommended phasing the project; Brosz will prepare the MCEP application and the town must explain sources of the match in the application. Mayor Gary Thielen said the town expects to fund some of the match from local funds and to ask the county for supplemental assistance.
The council voted to accept the PER and approved a task order with Brosz for grant-application services, billed hourly with a not-to-exceed clause. Councilwoman Michele Gray moved to accept the PER and task order and Councilwoman Promise Miller seconded; the motion carried 3-0.
The council and Brosz discussed bidding the full project to see actual costs and then phasing work if necessary. The task order was signed so Brosz can proceed with application and next steps.
