Emergency Management Coordinator Amy Terrapin asked each city attending the March 30 special meeting to "review the Hazard Mitigation Plan" and offered to meet with city councils to walk through the plan and its implementation steps. Terrapin presented the request as a preparedness measure meant to align municipal and county priorities.
Terrapin also reported that all three FEMA disasters since January 2024 are complete and submitted for final payment to the municipalities, and she said the county will receive more than $500,000 in reimbursements once final processing is complete. She noted the county maintains a resource list of equipment available to assist cities during disasters and summarized the Disaster Declaration process that would enable access to state assistance.
