Planning commission adopts officer appointments, discusses attendance rules

At the July 20 meeting the Planning Commission considered minor amendments to its Rules and Procedures and then moved to fill officer roles. Leon Ward made a motion to have David Michelson continue as Chair; Mark Shoener seconded and the motion passed 4-0. Michelson moved to have Thomas West continue as Vice Chair, subject to West's upcoming election and willingness to serve; that motion passed 4-0. Michelson also moved to appoint Mark Shoener as Secretary; the motion passed 4-0.
Chair Michelson proposed formalizing attendance expectations, suggesting members should not miss more than three consecutive meetings and should attend at least 75 percent of meetings. The commission did not vote on attendance standards at this meeting; the proposal will be reflected in future rule amendments.
