Board approves 2024–25 school handbooks; reviews multiple policy first readings

The Board approved school handbooks for Etna High School, Scott Valley Junior High, Etna Elementary, Fort Jones Elementary, Scott River High School, and Scott Valley Options for the 2024–25 school year. Trustee Sandy Hogge moved the motion to approve the handbooks, and Trustee Jason Finley seconded; the vote was 5–0. Trustees requested clarification related to the "student in good standing" language before approving.
Separately, the Board reviewed first readings of numerous policies and administrative regulations (June and July batches) covering topics such as charter school oversight (BP 0420.41), district and school websites (BP/AR 1113), Title IX complaint procedures, nondiscrimination policies, and guidance/counseling services. The minutes record review only; no final action on first-read policies was taken at this meeting.
