HR report: recruitment support, 72 new employees oriented in 2025 and 70 exams administered

Diann Ferris, Human Resources Administrator, reported on department activities during the Jan. 13 meeting. Ferris said the HR office continues to work with departments on recruitment and hiring needs; is processing HELP Program transitions for vacant positions; is reviewing position control and removing unfunded vacancies; and is inputting 2026 union increases and assisting towns and municipalities with payroll certifications.
Ferris also reported that Civil Service oriented 72 new employees in 2025 and administered 70 exams in 2025. She noted the office has started contract negotiations with CSEA and is working with counsel on employee and union issues. Ferris told the commission staff organized the physical fitness exam for Deputy Sheriff (Custody) held Jan. 10, 2026 as part of the recruitment process.
