Facilities update: bond passage moves Park Side office forward; solar panels at capacity

Superintendent Sara Gramm told trustees the district will begin moving forward on priority facility projects now that the newest bond has passed and that the district will seek third-party assistance to secure additional state matching funds.
The Park Side office project is next in line to proceed; staff noted the district was awaiting bond results before advancing the work. Brent Ono reported that the district’s solar panels are functioning at full capacity after several issues were resolved. Separately, Sebastopol Independent Charter School director Chris Topham said anticipated state matching funds had not arrived and that a planned TK facility will not break ground next summer.
The board also discussed a request from the West County Consortium to house an emotionally disturbed (ED) classroom at Brook Haven because SCOE is dissolving some special-education classes; the board concluded that current construction schedules and limited space made accommodating the request infeasible at this time.
