Road and Bridge Supervisor Joe Gardner asked the Board to consider a stipend for boots and pants for the Dura Patcher crew; Commissioners Keith Kelly and Linda Gerhardt both indicated support in principle. Gardner said crew timecards began using a clock-in system on the day of the meeting, Peyton will take a CDL test on Friday, and parts for a John Deere repair are ready.
Gardner said Wabaunsee County will demonstrate Perma-Zyme on July 7 and that Jackson County plans to observe. He also reported that county equipment will be used while KDOT supplies materials to help Denison City with erosion control. Commissioners asked Gardner to identify two field employees and one office position to cut and made additional budget reductions in other line items.
