Shelley and John Gardner, owners of Pumpkin Pants Ranch, addressed the commission to request the county allow consumer-grade fireworks to be discharged at commercial special events.
County Clerk Karen Madison explained the existing county fireworks resolution permits consumer-grade fireworks only between June 27 and July 3; to allow other dates or commercial event discharges, the commission would need to amend the resolution. County Administrator Lucas Goff said he would prepare an optional resolution for the March 3 meeting. Commissioners voted to table the issue to that meeting (vote 3-0).
The minutes do not record a specific proposed alternative schedule or fee structure; the item will return for formal consideration at the March 3 meeting along with any recommended language from county staff.
