UDOT asks local officials to review household and job forecasts to 2055

The presenter (identified during the meeting as Natalia) explained the interactive map layers available for review: 2023 baseline, 2055 totals, absolute change (2055–2023), and percent change. Natalia said the modeling currently shows nearly 58,000 households and approximately 44,000 jobs in the forecast area and asked local officials to use the map tool’s comment feature or to email suggested edits and known site plans. UDOT staff requested feedback within about four weeks so a draft could be available for the RPO’s April 27 meeting.
Officials asked about accessing the GIS layers and whether safety‑related survey data would feed into the forecast; UDOT said they will distribute the layers and can provide raw data for jurisdictions to create custom maps. The department emphasized that local input (site plans, timing of developments) will improve accuracy and asked jurisdictions to indicate confidence levels or timing where possible.
