Council authorizes disaster services contracts including catering and recovery providers

Council authorized several disaster-preparedness and response contracts. Staff reported the city issued an RFP for disaster catering services and recommended Old Orange Cafe based on two proposals and prior performance. "Old Orange Cafe was selected as our recommended authority...they did an exceptional job," staff said. Council approved authorizing the city manager to enter the agreement.
Separately, the council approved a joint procurement recommendation to select Ashford Incorporated as the primary pre-storm recovery services provider after four proposals were reviewed; the council also approved a secondary provider, DRC Emergency LLC, to be available if primary resources are exceeded. Finally, council approved an agreement with Thompson Consulting Services for debris-monitoring services to oversee cleanup accuracy and invoices after a disaster.
