RPO members push to advance large Mid Valley Highway segments into near-term phasing

At the meeting Wayne Benyon said he moved both the southern and the middle sections of the Mid Valley Highway into phase 1 in his initial cut of the plan and invited input. He explained those edits were based on the current RPO plan and connectivity study and asked the group to consider whether to retain that earlier phasing or shift segments later when fiscal constraint is applied.

Participants flagged dependencies — including federal decisions tied to larger projects and local development timelines — and asked staff to note those dependencies when circulating the revised map. Benyon emphasized the draft status and recommended revisiting the phasing after additional comment and the statewide fiscal-constraint step.
