Council approves FY2027 street-rehabilitation priority list totaling about $2 million

Public Works staff presented the city's FY2027 street-rehabilitation priorities and a short list of the six worst streets identified by condition and entrances. "This slide is a summary of the top 6 roads needing to be fixed…all the costs on the right hand column total up to approximately $2,000,000," the presenter said, listing West Alley Payne (phases 1 and 2), Bear Path East and West, Clark Lane and Womack Road.
Council discussed whether reserves could accelerate work this fiscal year; staff said about $100,000 remains in the streets construction budget and that the presentation's purpose was to secure council concurrence on priorities while staff pursues funding. A motion to accept the street-priority list was moved, seconded and approved; staff will return with funding recommendations as they develop.
