Trans Com approves TIP changes, hears safety grant and local project report

The WFRC Transportation Coordinating Committee met Feb. 19, 2026, in a hybrid session and approved board modifications to the 2026–2031 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). Mayor Sheri Bingham moved to approve the resolution, Carlton Christensen seconded, and “the affirmative motion was carried unanimously.”
Mayor Mark Shepherd highlighted a Safe Streets for All (SS4A) federal award to Layton City for a pedestrian bridge project and said the committee received a staff report on federal funds obligated during federal fiscal year 2025. Jory Wahlen, Roy City’s contract city engineer, described a completed roundabout at 3100 West and 6000 South that staff-level Trans Com recommendations helped fund. The committee was reminded to complete WFRC’s annual Open and Public Meetings Act training; the next Trans Com meeting is scheduled for April 30, 2026.
