Cherokee County approves state agreement to replace bridge west of Neutral

The Board of Cherokee County Commissioners voted April 28 to authorize Agreement No. 1009-24, Project No. 11 C-5346-01, to replace a bridge located five miles west and 0.7 mile south of Neutral. Commissioner Myra Carlisle Frazier moved to sign the agreement; Commissioner Jack Garner seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Road and Bridge Supervisor Cody Zook discussed project placement and funding allocation with the Board. The agreement was presented under the county’s Off-System Bridge Program authorization; the Board did not record additional conditions in the meeting minutes. Next steps noted during the discussion include coordination between Road and Bridge staff and the county counselor to finalize project paperwork and timelines.
