WFRC proposes Tooele Valley RPO plan-update timeline to align with state planning

Wayne Bennion of the Wasatch Front Regional Council (WFRC) proposed a schedule to update the Tooele Valley RPO Transportation Plan so local input can inform the Statewide Transportation Plan and avoid overlapping public comment periods.
Bennion proposed specific milestones: "April, 2026 identify additional needed highway projects; June, 2026 identify phasing of needed highway projects; September, 2026 identify active transportation and transit needs; October, 2026 public comment period." The timeline is intended to ensure coordination with MPOs, UDOT and UTA, all of which expect plan updates by mid-2027.
The RPO accepted the timeline proposal for planning purposes; staff and member jurisdictions will be asked to provide project lists and feedback in the months noted to inform scheduling and avoid conflicting public comment windows.
