Staff asked the Board of Commissioners to accept a 2026 GCIP internship grant to fund a summer intern for the senior-center/Active Life program. Lance, speaking on behalf of Dan Wood, said the grant is fully funded by ACCG and that the “grand total would be $3,259.50 which will be paid by ACCG.” He described the intern's role as conducting research and developing strategies to better engage Generation X residents approaching active-life center eligibility.
Commissioners asked clarifying questions about the intern's focus and eligibility group; staff explained Generation X in the application is defined as those born 1965–1980. The board agreed to place the grant acceptance on the evening meeting agenda for formal approval.
