Elk County hires public works employee and approves Bomag roller purchase

The Board of Commissioners on March 30 approved hiring Lee Lampson to the Public Works Department at a starting rate of $19.75 per hour. Don Sanders, Public Works Director, informed the board that Lampson will start on Monday; the motion to hire passed 3-0.
Sanders also requested purchase of a 2023 Bomag smooth drum roller for county asphalt work. Commissioners approved purchasing the roller through Berry Tractor for an amount not to exceed $37,900 and authorized Sanders to continue price negotiations on the county’s behalf.
