$6,275 reallocated to Volunteer Driver Program after DOT guidance; funds to roll into trust fund at year end

Becky Rein, Program Manager, reported that $6,275 originally identified for the 2026 Iron County Transportation application was moved into the Volunteer Driver Program project after guidance from Wisconsin DOT indicated funds must be fully allocated to projects and that any balance can be rolled into the trust fund at the end of the year. Rein said the funds will not be spent in 2026 and are expected to roll into the trust fund at year end.
Cally Bucknell also noted that Pat at BART provided vehicle-usage reports for the first two months of 2026; no questions were raised. The board recorded this transportation update in the Director Update portion of the agenda and took no separate formal action beyond accepting the report.
