During a short special meeting on July 17, the Green Tree Borough Council approved two resolutions that authorize staff to secure temporary construction easements on parcels owned by Green Creek Hospitality LLC and Sunset Realty Adventures LLC to support the Trumbull Bridge replacement. Council members voted to adopt both resolutions after staff explained that major funding partners (Federal Department of Transportation and PennDOT) would underwrite most of the project cost and that easements must be in place before the project is put out to bid.
Staff emphasized that negotiated agreements are the preferred outcome and that the borough will seek amicable settlements first; the council authorized the administration and solicitor to proceed up to and including eminent domain and condensation with just compensation if negotiations fail. The agency official present told members that the authorization provides up to a year to file condemnation actions, and staff said the procurement milestone is expected around Halloween. The council then adjourned and moved into an executive session.
