Maple Hill Road overlay, culvert work and new trucks on county schedule

Road & Bridge Supervisor Josh Hinch updated the commission on upcoming road projects and equipment. Hinch said culvert installation on Gooseberry Road is complete and crews are preparing for an overlay of Maple Hill Road by Schilling Construction beginning April 6; construction is expected to take about one week and the road will remain open with a pilot car.
Hinch said crews will next replace crossroad culverts on Wabaunsee Road and then move to Wells Creek Road. He reported that two new dump trucks are scheduled to arrive this week and a third will be delivered in April. Hinch also noted that a contractor who had expressed interest in assisting with replacement of bridge #108 is no longer pursuing assistance because the replacement cost exceeded their cost-benefit assessment.
