Karen Martin reported the bid opening for the dinghy dock at City Pier; two bids were received and Atlantic Coast Tug & Marine was the low bidder but was found nonconforming for missing required bid documents. "Kavanaugh did submit a complete bid package," Martin said, noting Kavanaugh previously completed cathodic protection work on the dock and will use Reagan Marine to install timbers.
Martin told the board their review found Kavanaugh's response complete and within the proposed budget. The clerk read the motion: "Motion to approve awarding the contract in the amount of $229,000 to Kavanaugh Marine Incorporated for the work associated with IFB number 2704 for the new dinghy dock at Norton City Pier in 3 mooring fields and to approve the chair or executive director to sign the agreement." The motion was seconded and passed by roll call.
The project will proceed with Kavanaugh and Reagan Marine performing installation work; Karen said the team has prior experience on the site and that the award fits the planned budget.
