The Medford Area Public School District Board heard a construction update July 27 focused on the location and design of MASH tennis courts and decided to postpone any decision.
District Administrator Laura Lundy presented two options: reconstruct the existing six courts at the current location with an estimated cost of $1,059,000; or relocate the courts to the west side of Raider Field and expand from six to eight courts with an estimated cost of $1,611,000. The board took no action and directed staff to gather additional information on lighting options and layout possibilities; the item is scheduled for further discussion on the August agenda.
No formal motion to choose a site or commit funding was made at the July meeting. The decision was deferred so the board can review additional cost and design information before making a commitment.
