Wayne County Board special meeting recap: contract OK'd, executive session held

At its Jan. 28 special meeting the Wayne County Board of Supervisors authorized a temporary contract for social services legal work, entered executive session under Article 14 for collective negotiations, then returned to regular session and adjourned; the next meeting is Feb. 19, 2026.
At a special meeting Jan. 28 the Wayne County Board of Supervisors approved RESOLUTION 84-26 to authorize a temporary contract with Jacqueline McCormick for Social Services legal services at $158 per hour, not to exceed $15,168. The resolution was presented by Mrs. Pisciotti, moved by Mr. Fantuzzo and seconded by Mr. Rose; the board adopted it upon roll call.
Shortly after considering the resolution, the board entered Committee of the Whole at 9:05 a.m. and at 9:06 a.m. voted to go into executive session "in regards to collective negotiations pursuant to Article 14 of the Civil Service Law," on a motion by Mr. Kolczynski. The board returned to regular session at 11:24 a.m., and Mr. Rose moved to adjourn at 11:25 a.m., seconded by Mrs. Rice.
The clerk noted that all supervisors were present except Supervisors Mettler and VanNostrand, who were absent. Kelley P. Loveless recorded the meeting and announced that the next board meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026, at 9 a.m. in the Supervisors Chambers.
