The American Fork City Council on April 14 accepted a petition to annex 11.13 acres known as Willow Tree Farm and indicated the property would be annexed under an RA-1 (very low-density residential) designation.
Mary Street, the property owner, thanked staff for assistance and raised concern about a willow tree she estimates at more than 100 years old; she said future widening of 100 East could impact the tree and asked staff to explore preservation options. Development Services Director Patrick O'Brien clarified zoning and nearby land uses and said the annexation agreement will follow Planning Commission review and staff processing.
Councilmember Staci Carroll moved to adopt the petition and Councilmember Ryan Hunter seconded; the motion passed on a recorded vote. Staff will bring the annexation agreement back to council and consider tree-preservation options during project review.
