Director Dodd gave a monthly facilities update on the Regional Forensic Center, reporting substantial progress across site and interior work and outlining remaining milestones.
Dodd said "The overall site work remains at 95% complete." He reported driving lanes, parking binder, curbs and sidewalks are complete; overhead doors installed; interior drywall, prime and first paint coats finished; ceiling grid in administrative areas about 50% complete; and stainless steel casework and lab tile installation are ongoing. The generator package and power distribution are 90% complete with tie‑in and testing scheduled for Wednesday, August 5. He said the punch list and request for substantial completion remain targeted for October with a potential move‑in date in November 2026, and reported a current contingency balance of approximately $170,637.
Dodd also provided look‑ahead items, scheduling OAC meetings in early August and noting elements such as door hardware, cold‑room drawings, and landscaping work. No formal actions were taken; commissioners asked clarifying questions about staffing, MOUs with other counties and grant applications for further site testing for a separate parcel discussed later in the meeting.
