The St. Helena Parish Police Jury voted on several personnel and administrative actions on Nov. 25. The jury unanimously revised its post-employment benefits policy so that, effective Nov. 25, 2025, new hires will not be entitled to post-employment retirement benefits. The jury also transferred the Maintenance Department under the authority of the Building Official and designated Edward Galmon as the direct supervisor of maintenance operations.
The jury hired Arlonzo Lee as a General Laborer for Road District #4 at a rate of $13.00 per hour, contingent upon passing a drug screen and physical. Jurors also added Fire Protection District #4 (Bradley Graves and Leslie Akins named in the minutes) to the Police Jury Blue Cross insurance policy; the fire district will reimburse the Police Jury for the monthly premium.
