Commissioners approve two retail beer‑and‑wine licenses for existing and new stores

A separate application for a new gas station at 1310 New Franklin Road was also reviewed; staff said the store had received a certificate of occupancy and was ready to open, and that its beer‑and‑wine application complied with requirements.
Staff noted another application for a Bartley Road location was confused in the packet and would return for a later meeting. No members of the public spoke in opposition to the eligible applications. After staff presentations, commissioners moved and approved the eligible licenses by voice vote.
"This location has had several beer and wine license[s]... so this is just a relicensing of a spot that's been there for quite a while," staff said when describing the Market Street Food Mart application. For the New Franklin Road site, staff said building permits and certificate of occupancy were complete and the application complied.
Next steps: staff will process licensing paperwork and notify applicants; the deferred Bartley Road application will be scheduled for a future meeting.
