Council approves disbursements, board of review schedule and bid advertisements

Resolution 26‑129, approving disbursement of funds to pay pending and current invoices and payables, passed unanimously after a roll‑call vote. Resolution 26‑130, scheduling a Board of Review for Sept. 16, 2026, also passed unanimously. Resolution 26‑131, designating the News Examiner‑Enterprise as the official parish journal for fiscal year 2026–2027, passed 6–1 with Councilman Ryan Louque recorded as opposed. Resolution 26‑132 authorized advertising bids for construction of the Vacherie Community and Sports Complex and passed unanimously. Resolution 26‑133 provided a certificate of public approval of bonds pursuant to section 147(f) of the Internal Revenue Code and passed unanimously.
Motions and recorded votes were made on the floor: for example, Resolution 26‑129 was moved by Councilman Donald Nash and seconded by Vice Councilman Courtney Long; the meeting minutes record all seven members voting in favor. The council did not record substantive debate on these items during the June 17 meeting; meeting minutes indicate routine adoption of these resolutions with the one recorded opposition on Resolution 26‑131.
