Parish President Peter Dufresne told the council the Operations Team is working with engineers from High Tide Consulting to develop a project to improve the Bayou Chevreuil boat launch, funded through capital outlay with an anticipated $500,000 allocation.
Dufresne said the allocation would include $100,000 to reimburse engineering costs and an additional $400,000 to become available in fiscal year 2027. He said the parish anticipates going to bid on related drainage work in August and will host public outreach, including a town hall, about associated projects such as the Rosary Street Drainage project.
The announcement frames the boat‑launch work as part of ongoing infrastructure and recreation investments in the parish and ties engineering and procurement steps to public outreach before construction activity begins.
