The St. Helena Parish Police Jury elected Quanika H. Muse president for the 2026 calendar year and Warren McCray Jr. vice president during its Jan. 13 meeting in Greensburg.
After an initial nomination of Jule C. Wascom for president failed on a 3–3 vote, Ryan Byrd nominated Quanika H. Muse; that motion passed with YEAS: Quanika H. Muse, Warren McCray Jr., Ryan Byrd, Doug Watson and NAYS: Jule C. Wascom, Willie Morgan. The jury later approved Warren McCray Jr. as vice president by the same 4–2 margin.
The votes were recorded by roll call and the body proceeded to other business after installing the 2026 officers. The minutes show no further contested leadership motions at the meeting.
