Hospital official reports five new ambulances, onboard blood products and handheld ventilators for county EMS

The presenter said the system also added very small handheld ventilators that can be carried in backpacks and that staff have used them several times with positive results.
The presenter further noted that blood products are now carried on county ambulances to improve survival in significant trauma cases, an operational change intended to save lives in rural responses. Commissioners asked about privacy and training uses of interior cameras; the presenter said the cameras do not view patients directly to comply with HIPAA and are used for coaching and safety alerts (for example, detecting cell‑phone use by crew members). Questions about maintenance were answered by explaining that mechanical repairs are centralized at the system garage in Huntsville but vehicles return to county service and have not been permanently reassigned out of the county.
