Commissioners certify FY 2627 Clearfield County Human Services Plan with flat or reduced funding levels

The Board of Commissioners voted to approve and certify the Fiscal Year 2627 Clearfield County Human Services Plan after a staff presentation on July 28. Lisa Kovaluk told the board the plan was prepared with input from Community Connections of Jefferson and Clearfield counties, the Drug and Alcohol Commission and local legal and social services.
Kovaluk said proposed expenditures would support 2,378 individuals and total about $3,500,000 in combined federal, state and county funding. She provided program-level figures: intellectual-disability services would serve about 58 individuals with roughly $2,100,000 in federal, state and county funding; substance-use-disorder funding was listed as $276,787 to serve approximately 247 individuals; homeless assistance included $8,000 to continue operations at the Good Samaritan men's shelter and increased wrap/rental-assistance funds (Community Action to receive $56,400). Kovaluk asked commissioners to sign the required assurance of compliance so the plan could be submitted.
Commissioner motioned to approve certification, the motion was seconded and the board voted 'Aye.' Kovaluk said she would leave the assurance and the full budget for the commissioners to sign and return.
