Rob Thornberry, representing the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership, briefed the Board on the group's campaign to meet with all 44 Idaho county commissions about public-lands access, conservation and Payments in Lieu of Taxes (PILT). Thornberry outlined the organization's priorities and described how PILT and land-management choices affect county access and recreation opportunities.
Commissioners acknowledged the presentation and discussed coordination between county priorities and nonprofit conservation goals. Thornberry said the partnership seeks to inform county officials about federal program interactions with local recreation and conservation planning.
