Dickenson County Schools get approval to carry forward $2.45 million for capital projects

Board member (S4) moved to allow the school division to carry forward the balance; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
The board commended school staff for fiscal management and noted that some carryforward funds are restricted (for example, textbook funds) and others are earmarked for capital work. Staff will work with the schools to track carryovers and ensure funds are spent in accordance with state restrictions and local procurement rules.
