Hayside representatives (Mister Gill) said the state will require two portable radios per ambulance in the near term, and that current radios and monitors are noncompliant with incoming DMR requirements. "We have 3 current units in service right now with another one expected to be delivered the 1st week of September," the representative said, adding the current monitors and radios are reaching the end of their service life.
Board members approved the motion to proceed with the grant application by voice vote and asked staff to watch lead times and coordinate any town-level funding assistance. Staff said grant awards will be announced in January and that equipment delivery timelines vary by item.
