Ellis County Historical Society outlines sesquicentennial events, asks commissioners for grant support

She also noted the Victoria renovation (Saint John's Place) is ahead of schedule and that the society has raised roughly $700,000 in capital funds to date, largely through private gifts and one state tourism grant of $35,000.
Amanda asked the commissioners for letters of support for grant applications the society plans to file in April. She also described plans for a summer traveling exhibit and a student-created escape-room attraction as part of outreach to visitors and school groups.
Commissioners thanked the society for the update and invited continued coordination with county staff on events and grant support.
