Clark County wins $500,000 state grant to renovate Orchards Community Park

Clark County Parks and Nature announced it was awarded $500,000 in state grant funding to advance renovations at Orchards Community Park, a roughly 33-acre site east of I‑205 and north of Northeast 4th Plain Boulevard.
Evelyn Ives, who identified herself as working in planning and development for Clark County Parks and Nature, said the county “was notified in late 2025 that we were granted $500,000” to move the project forward. Ives said the grant money will primarily cover a new water-spray play area and a full replacement of the park’s play equipment with inclusive designs.
County staff emphasized that grant funds address specific goals: improving visibility and visitation to reduce safety concerns, and improving ADA accessibility across the site. Additional capital improvements not covered by the state grant — including a new restroom, added parking and intersection safety work — would be paid with county park capital funds.
