Truth Tonix repeatedly asked for improved agenda detail, an HTML agenda format with fuller attachments, clear public email contacts for elected officials, and live streaming on the city YouTube channel.
Other residents said that negotiations over the ice‑rink proposal had been fast‑tracked and that presentations sometimes preceded public comment, leaving citizens without enough information to respond. “When you ask for public input, you have an obligation to listen,” said Melissa Petrie. A number of speakers asked staff to publish fuller materials earlier and to ensure telephonic participants are audible; some found the new online speaker queue and audio quality inadequate.
City Manager clarifications noted that staff presented guidelines used by other communities and that those are not necessarily equivalent to ordinances; staff committed to improving clarity around the distinction. Council members and staff acknowledged the comments and reminded the public that formal environmental review and public hearings provide further opportunities for input.
