Board accepts ISAC insurance renewals, sets FY2026 premiums and county contributions

The Van Buren County Board accepted the employee insurance committee’s recommendation to renew FY2026 health, dental and vision plans through the Iowa State Association of Counties (ISAC). The board approved continuing Wellmark plans 11C and 16 and agreed to buy down deductibles/out-of-pocket maximums to $1,500/$3,000 for single coverage and $3,000/$6,000 for family coverage on both plans.
The county will maintain its contribution for single coverage at $684/month and for family coverage at $1,270/month. The minutes record premiums for FY2026 as follows: Alliance Select — single $742.99, family $1,643.72; Blue Choice — single $687.14, family $1,517.07. The county also approved continuing Delta Dental Option #3 with the county fully paying single dental coverage ($43.78/month) and offering ISAC Delta Vision 130 plan as a voluntary option (single $8.20/month, family $20.92/month).
