Patrick County tourism council approves minutes, discusses retreat feedback and adjourns

At the March 19 meeting, the Patrick County Tourism Advisory Council approved the minutes of the February meeting and the Board Retreat Overview on a motion by Co-Chair Kurt Bozenmayer, seconded by Wayne Kirkpatrick. The council recorded one correction to the minutes: Mary Dellenback Hill attended the February meeting virtually and should not have been listed as absent. Voting yes were Chair Bessie Weber, Jeanie Clark, Kurt Bozenmayer, Wayne Kirkpatrick, Brian Alley and Mary Dellenback Hill (virtual); there were no no votes or abstentions. Member Chris Prutting was absent.
During the meeting, Wayne Kirkpatrick said the retreat had been well conducted but suggested allowing a longer timeframe for retreats or shortening individual presentations so the schedule is not dominated by presentations. Chair Weber invited members to forward retreat follow-up ideas to James Houchins or Grace Cooper.
The council agreed to adjourn on a motion by Wayne Kirkpatrick, seconded by Jeanie Clark; the adjournment motion carried with the same recorded yes votes and no abstentions. The next regular meeting was scheduled for Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at Patrick & Henry Community College.
