Zoning commission recommends two subdivisions and a temporary concrete batch permit; town-hall schedule announced

At committee reports the zoning commission recommended approval of two subdivisions (Knack Addition and Twisted Timbers Acres) and a conditional use permit for a temporary concrete batch plant to support Iowa DOT Highway 20 reconstruction; tentative town halls in Sloan (Aug. 31), Mobile (Sept. 21) and Salix (Nov. 9) were announced.
Board member Kent reported zoning commission actions including two proposed subdivisions and one conditional use permit.
Kent said the first proposed minor subdivision, the Knack Addition (Scott and Sheryl Knack), is approximately 13.8 acres (11.84 acres excluding county right-of-way) at Osceola Avenue and 150th Street in Correctionville. The second is Twisted Timbers Acres (Jason Silvernagel), approximately 6.32 acres (5.81 acres excluding ROW) at 3375 Dylan Avenue in Sloan. Kent also reported the commission approved a conditional use permit for temporary portable concrete batch plants (owner James D. Countryman) to support Iowa DOT’s Highway 20 reconstruction; Kent said equipment will be removed and the site restored to agricultural use after work is finished.
Kent closed by sharing a tentative town-hall schedule: Sloan on Aug. 31 at 7 p.m., Mobile on Sept. 21 at 7 p.m., and Salix on Nov. 9 at 7 p.m.
