Chief Judge Bruce Gatterman and Pawnee County Court Clerk Kay Schartz presented the proposed 2027 Pawnee County District Court budget to commissioners at 9:00 a.m. Judge Gatterman told the board criminal filings are down across the area and civil filings are also lower; he said domestic case counts remain similar to previous years. He explained an increase in Capital Outlay in the district court budget.
Commissioner Burdett moved and Commissioner Miller seconded approval of the 2027 Pawnee County District Court annual budget as presented; the motion passed 3-0. Judge Gatterman then presented the 24th Judicial District (District Expense) budget, noting an increase in funds allocated to the law library; commissioners approved that budget 3-0.
