Code enforcement presented photos showing a property at 1921 Korandis Road with overgrown grass and hedges that were not trimmed to town standards. Staff said the residents had been cited previously and had come into compliance before, but no communication had occurred in this cycle. The board debated whether to give 30 days or a shorter timeline because of public health and rodent concerns and ultimately amended a motion to require mowing and trimming by August 10, 2026. If the property remains noncompliant after that date, fines of up to $50 per day may commence on August 11 and a fine-assessment hearing will be held on August 26 if necessary.
Board members noted that if the property poses a serious threat to health and safety, the town can declare a nuisance and perform the work, charging the property. Staff said they had posted notices on the property and recognized vehicles at the address, but had not received recent communication from the residents.
