Owners ask for more time on roof; board orders permits, inspections for chimney and garage-door work
Summary
Owners of a property at 7504 Neemic Drive N asked for more time to obtain roofing estimates; the board found work had been done without permits (including chimney removal), required demo/permit filings and set compliance dates and potential fines for chimney, lawn and garage-door issues.

Code enforcement presented photos and body-cam video showing work on a chimney and other activity at a Neemic Drive property done without permits. The code officer told the board a stop-work order was issued and that no permits had been pulled as of the reinspection.
The owners, Pavel Paradiso and Anne Bix, told the board they are pursuing engineering and contractor estimates and asked for a 60-day extension to decide whether to pressure-clean and paint the roof or replace it. "We are in the process of getting estimates to redo the roof... we're asking for a 60 day extension," the owner said. Building inspector Joe recommended the owners pull an interior demo permit so an inspector can verify whether the structure is sound and whether additional structural work or waterproofing is required.
The board made separate findings and orders: for the chimney and associated unpermitted work (case 215) the respondent was found in violation and required to obtain permits and inspections with a compliance date of 08/25/2026 and a fine not to exceed $250 per day if timely compliance does not occur (fine-assessment hearing 08/26/2026). For the ungrassed lawn (case 216) the board set the same compliance date but noted that seeding/rock work may reach compliance within 30 days. For the garage door (case 217) the board found the door in disrepair and directed the owner to pull permits for replacement or repairs to meet current hurricane-code standards.
