Howell elected chair, Haggadone chosen vice-chair of Lapeer County Board for 2025

At its Jan. 2 organizational meeting the Lapeer County Board of Commissioners elected Commissioner Gary Howell chair by unanimous ballot and selected Commissioner Brad Haggadone as vice-chair by a 5–2 roll call vote.
The Lapeer County Board of Commissioners elected Commissioner Gary Howell as chair for 2025 and Commissioner Brad Haggadone as vice-chair at its organizational meeting on Jan. 2, 2025. County Clerk Theresa M. Spencer opened the meeting at 9:00 a.m.; Commissioner Bryan Zender nominated Howell for chair and Motion 01-2025 (moved by Commissioner Greg Wise and supported by Commissioner Brad Haggadone) closed nominations and cast an unanimous ballot for Howell. The roll call recorded seven ayes and the clerk declared Howell chair.
For vice-chair, Commissioner Kevin Knisely nominated Commissioner Brad Haggadone and Commissioner Bryan Zender nominated Commissioner C. lan Kempf. Motion 02-2025 (moved by Kempf and supported by Haggadone) closed nominations and proceeded to a roll-call tally that resulted in five votes for Haggadone and two for Kempf; Chairman Howell declared Haggadone vice-chair for 2025. The board consists of seven commissioners representing Districts 1–7.
